A BRUSH WITH SILENCE: An introduction to brush meditation

        with Thomas Roberts

Sunday September 16 10am-4pm

$50 includes all supplies, BYO lunch, beverages provided.

The mindful use of brushes, ink and paper as a method of deepening the spiritual journey, has been employed throughout the centuries and by numerous traditions. In the Japanese tradition, this technique is referred to as Shodo, or The Way of The Brush; a mindful method that brings great peace, balance and harmony into our lives via patient brush strokes.

During this introductory Shodo session, you will have the opportunity to experience the playful and profound dance of brush, ink and paper. We will be using exciting Zen brushes (all materials will be supplied) to explore the Zen image of the Enso or Zen circle. By way of this elegant circle, you will access a level of wholeness of experience not otherwise possible. Developing a careful relationship with the brush, ink and paper, allows you to access your deeper wisdom in a new and refreshing manner.

Please leave your artistic ego and related fears at the door. No artistic experience necessary. Only a willingness and curiosity to explore a unique addition to your spiritual practice!
