Henna Day at SUTRA!

Sutra Global Imports is pleased to host Henna Artist and World Traveler Anna Ostendorf for Henna Day at SUTRA !

Saturday July 22 10am - 4pm (last customer taken around 3:30pm)
No appointment necessary !
Most designs cost from $10-$15 (min $5 - average maximum $25)
payable directly to the artisan

Adults and children alike can receive the beautiful, temporary skin art which originated in India and other parts of the Middle East and Africa.. Traditionally used to wedding adornments, the lovely adornments now are gaining great popularity here in the Midwest. A "cone with a small tip" of henna is used to apply the patterns, which "bloom" after a day. Most people opt for a design applied to their ankle, hand, forearm or shoulder.

You can select from several designs such a floral or swirls, mandala patterns (circular) or leafy-vine patterns. Anna will have pages of patterns from which you can select and the designs last 1-2 weeks with proper care.

If you are interested in learning to make the henna paste, as well as how to apply the designs, there will be a workshop the evening before this day: Watch for a separate event listing!
